Research Support and Administration Team

Gretchen holds a PhD in cell and molecular biology from New York University (US) and completed postdoctoral work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (US).

Since then, she has held positions in research, training, operations, administration, strategic development, and research community building in the US, Finland, Sweden, and Denmark, giving her diverse experiences to draw upon.

Immediately prior to joining the CPD, she worked with the Danish and international research community through the Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy as Education Manager. Gretchen is responsible for the daily and longer-term operations of the Center

Michala has a Master of Arts in Modern Culture and China Studies, University of Copenhagen.

She has worked in administration and management support at universities in Denmark and China for the past decade.

Ana received her MSc in Biochemistry from the University of Porto, where she studied molecular mechanisms that prevent protein self-aggregation.
She obtained her PhD in Radiation Biology and Biophysics from NOVA University Lisbon, by integrating biophysical and spectroscopic approaches to characterise protein-based nanocompartments that mediate ferroxidation.

She later joined the groups of Gregers R. Andersen, Christian F. Andersen, and Edzard Spillner at Aarhus University, combining cryo-electron microscopy and biophysics to study proteins involved in the complement system and innate immunity.

At the CPD, Ana oversees the daily operations of the Protein Biophysics Facility, supporting researchers through training, experimental design, data analysis, and advanced protein characterization.
