CPD Laureates Mini Symposium
The Center for Protein Design is pleased to welcome Professor Alena Khmelinskaia (Ludwig Maximilian University Munich) and Professor Jennifer Listgarten (University of California, Berkeley) for the inaugural CPD Laureates Mini Symposium.
The first CPD Laureates Mini Symposium brings together two internationally leading scientists whose research is advancing our understanding of biological systems through innovative computational and experimental approaches.
Speakers
Professor Khmelinskaia
Leads research on the physical principles that govern protein self-assembly and the design of protein-based materials. Her work combines computational de novo protein design with experimental biophysics to investigate how proteins can be engineered to form complex, dynamic, and responsive structures.
By integrating computational modelling and laboratory validation, her research contributes to the development of new protein architectures with potential applications in biotechnology and biomedicine.
Professor Listgarten
Is internationally recognised for her work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, computational biology, and protein engineering.
Her research focuses on developing machine learning approaches that can accelerate scientific discovery and improve our ability to design proteins with desired characteristics. Through her work, she is advancing how AI can support the prediction, optimisation, and engineering of biological molecules.
